Senior Rep Super Hero

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of months.  Been crazy busy doing the bridal show and getting seniors 2015 reps lined up!!
This is the time of year that I start working with my juniors to be senior reps and spokes models.  I spend months taking applications, doing interviews, and planning their first session.  A themed session, but also with some great shots that are a little more them, that they get to use on their social pages.

I have my first ever guy rep this year, and let me tell you.  He pretty much rocks!!

I met Ryan in the fall when his step mom, Tammie, booked a session for their family.

One of the questions on my rep application is asking the senior to tell me about themselves.
Ryan said:
"I am a big comic book fan. Batman and Superman control most of my collection. Other superhero stuff interests me too (video games, movies.) Also, I am involved in debate at GCHS. Baseball is my favorite sport and Kansas State is my favorite school. I don't have a true favorite genre of music, but anything chill attracts my attention. Schoolwork is definitely the most important aspect of my life right now. I hopefully represent my class well as I am involved in clubs and activities, yet my main focus is academics."

I have to say, the "nerd" girl in me was jumping up and down with excitement.  All I could think was, how can I use comics for his themed session.....

This was a good start!!! PS.  A week later I still have black paint in my fingernails!! Gross!!!

Ryan brought comic books, tshirts, and my very favorite, his Riddler costume.
Ryan's shoot was soooo much fun!!  A very special thank you to my boyfriend, Kelly, for the behind the scenes shots!!!  You're an awesome assistant babe!!!

And Ryan really was a hero that day, just ask the tiny kitten he put back with it's siblings!!!!  Okay girls, here's our "aaawwweee" moment....

I asked Ryan 3 questions about his themed session.  Here are the questions and responses.

1. What was your favorite part of your session with KRP?
Ryan: My favorite part was shooting at all the cool locations we visited.

2. How would you describe Kat and KRP to your friends who are looking for a photographer?
Ryan: If you are looking for a fantastic collection of shots as well as a fun environment, go to Kat and KRP.

3. Did this themed session get you excited for your session?
Ryan: Absolutely! Who wouldn't look forward to a second session when the themed one was such a success.

Thank you Ryan for rocking your session, I'm looking forward to your next session too!!

Yup I have a Rockin job.... January proves it!

I'm always saying that I have the coolest job in the world.... and I think that my January was proof of that.  I love shooting weddings, and seniors, but music has always been a huge part of my life, and therefore, shooting bands my passion.  I love it!!  And if you know me at all, then you know that my music taste runs from New Kids on the Block (yes, I'm old, I know) to Rob Zombie, and just about anything between.  Pop, punk, country, rock, metal.... what ever fits my mood at the moment, and I'm a natural red head.... so yeah, I'm kinda moody!!

January 2014 was an awesome month for me on the band scene.  I got to shoot 6 different bands, some of which I've worked with previously and a couple of new ones.
